Plastic injection molds

Cavity, core, feed, cooling and ejection systems.

Design and manufacture of thermoplastic injection molds with feed, cooling and ejection systems engineered for the material, cycle and production volume. Final scope is defined based on geometry, material, equipment, volume, tolerances and operating conditions.

Overview

Design and manufacturing tied to the actual injection process.

The mold is developed from the part, the polymer, the machine and the expected volume. Fundimoldes integrates engineering, machining, assembly, finishing, validation and after-sales support.

Problems we solve
Turning a plastic part into a manufacturable mold
Defining cavity; core; feed; cooling and ejection
Designing for the material; machine and production volume
Manufacturing inserts; plates and spare parts
Validating dimensions and commissioning
In plain terms

Need to make a plastic part: is an injection mold what you need?

What it is

An injection mold is a steel or aluminum tool mounted on an injection molding machine. Molten plastic is forced into the cavity, cools and comes out as a finished part, cycle after cycle.

When it is the right process

When the part is solid or has defined walls and is needed in volume with repeatable dimensions. For very few units, consider CNC machining or 3D printing first.

If your part is hollow or a sheet

Bottles and containers are made with blow molds; tanks and large hollow parts with rotational molds; trays, blisters and sheet packaging with thermoforming molds.

What Fundimoldes makes

Fundimoldes designs and builds the mold, its components and spare parts. The plastic parts are then produced with that mold on an injection machine, usually at the customer’s plant or their molder’s. Not sure? See which process your plastic part needs.

Variants

Types and scope.

Cavity and core molds

Base architecture for forming the outer and inner geometry of the part. Ideal for: Thermoplastic parts whose geometry and volume are subject to evaluation.

Molds with interchangeable inserts

Inserts for critical areas, maintenance or variants, where the design allows. Ideal for: Part families, repair and localized wear control.

Molds with project-specific feed systems

Feed system engineered for the part, material, cycle and equipment. Ideal for: Control of filling, scrap and repeatability.

Molds with integrated cooling

Channels and circuits designed for thermal control within geometric constraints. Ideal for: Reducing variation and controlling cycle time.

Molds with mechanical ejection

Ejection elements defined by geometry, shrinkage and demolding. Ideal for: Parts that require controlled extraction.

Workflow

How we work.

01
Part and machine analysis

We review CAD, material, weight, shrinkage, machine capacity, volume, appearance and tolerances.

02
Mold design

We define cavity, core, parting, feed, cooling, ejection, inserts and structure.

03
Component manufacturing

We machine plates, cavities, cores, inserts and auxiliary components.

04
Assembly and fitting

We assemble and check shut-offs, movements, cooling and ejection.

05
Validation

We apply dimensional control, 3D scanning and machine trials when they are part of the scope.

06
Delivery and after-sales

We deliver the agreed documentation and support for maintenance, spare parts or modifications.

Keep in mind

Technical considerations.

Mold material

We work with P20, H13, 1.2311, aluminum or others as required; selection depends on volume, resin, finish and maintenance.

Shrinkage and tolerances

They must be defined for the actual material and process conditions; generic values are not assumed.

Cooling

Channel geometry must balance heat transfer, strength, access and maintenance.

Machine trial

Requires compatible, available equipment; acceptance criteria must be agreed in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions.

What information is needed to quote an injection mold?+

Part CAD or drawing, material, weight, dimensions, annual volume, machine, expected feed system, finish, tolerances and a sample if available.

Do you make complete molds or only components?+

Both: complete molds, cavities, cores, inserts, plates, spare parts and maintenance.

Can you adapt the mold to a specific machine?+

Yes. Compatibility must be validated with data on the machine, platens, clamping, injection and connections.

Do you include documentation?+

We offer technical documentation, dimensional validation and after-sales maintenance according to scope.

Does Fundimoldes make the plastic parts or the mold?+

Fundimoldes designs and builds the mold. Parts are produced with that mold on an injection machine. If you haven’t decided who will mold the parts, say so when requesting a quote.
